Helping People Understand Weight Loss Through Real Data
At Cut Extra Weight, we believe that sustainable weight loss starts with understanding your body, not following unrealistic promises or short-term diets.
This project was created to provide a simple, science-inspired platform where anyone can monitor weight changes, calculate Body Mass Index (BMI), understand calorie balance, and build healthier daily habits.
Unlike many websites that focus only on motivation, Cut Extra Weight focuses on measurable progress. Every chart, calculator, and future feature is designed to help users make informed decisions based on real data.
Why I Built This Project
I believe that sustainable weight loss comes from consistency rather than perfection.
Instead of asking "How much weight can I lose in a week?", I wanted to answer questions like:
- How does my weight change over several months?
- How do daily habits influence long-term progress?
- How does calorie intake compare with calorie expenditure?
- What does my BMI actually mean?
- Can small daily improvements lead to meaningful results?
Cut Extra Weight was built to answer those questions.
Real Data, Real Progress
One of the core principles of this project is transparency.
The weight charts displayed on the website are based on real measurements collected throughout my own journey.
The earliest recorded measurements currently available begin in August 2026, and new entries continue to be added as the project evolves.
The purpose is not to show a perfect transformation but to demonstrate that real progress includes fluctuations, plateaus, and setbacks—all of which are a normal part of long-term weight management.
What You'll Find Here
Cut Extra Weight currently includes tools for:
- tracking body weight over time;
- calculating and understanding Body Mass Index (BMI);
- monitoring estimated calorie intake and calorie expenditure;
- viewing long-term trends through interactive charts;
- learning about healthy weight management through educational articles.
New functionality is added continuously as the project grows.
How Calculations Work
The website uses well-established formulas and publicly available health guidelines wherever possible.
Some values—such as estimated daily calorie needs or calories burned during activities—are approximations intended for educational purposes.
For example, activity-based calorie expenditure is currently estimated using reference values for a person weighing approximately 70 kg (154 lb) unless stated otherwise.
These estimates should be treated as helpful guidance rather than exact measurements.
Privacy
You can browse the website, use the calculators, and explore the educational content without creating an account.
If you choose to register in the future, your personal tracking data will be stored only to provide personalized features such as progress history and statistics.
